Congratulations Yorkare

Yorkare are pleased to announce that work is nearing completion at the Lindsey Lower School, on Clee Road in the heart of Cleethorpes. The work will see the former Grammar School converted and sympathetically extended, turning the property into a 78 bedroom Care Home. The home is due to open on the 19th of September.

The Home will be split into three units, with 38 beds for nursing and residential care and two smaller units to care for residents suffering from dementia related illnesses. All bedrooms will be en-suite, on the ground floor and will range from 20-25sqm.

As with Yorkare’s other homes, ResiData will play a major role in providing Care Records, Care plans, Staff training planning and reviews.

Horton Housing roll out ResiData

Since inception, Horton Housing Association has remained committed to the aim of ensuring the needs of those who find difficulty in accessing mainstream services are catered for. This commitment has seen the development of a range of innovative schemes as well as a number of research projects that have demonstrated the type and level of unmet needs that exist. Quality and diversity are key objectives in both service delivery and employment and the Association is proud of the professionalism and commitment of a staff team that has the skills and ability to deliver a range of high quality and culturally sensitive services that are appropriate to the needs of our client groups.

ResiData has provided us with a cross services client and scheme management system addressing Floating Support SP and Non SP schemes, Accommodation schemes, Community Care schemes (long term SP), Drop In and Emergency Homeless schemes. With full referral management, auto SP and LA submission and reporting, through to post scheme follow up.

Things to consider when looking for a CMS

There are now a veriety of CMS systems on offer, but deciding which one, especially if some staff are reluctant to use computers, can be an onerous task. Heres our take and a list of things to consider.

Web based systems.

The up side: Easily accessible from anywhere with internet. Updateable by the supplier.

The down side: The data you enter is not in your control. Data Protection determines that YOU are responsible for the data you hold but you have no control over where or how it is kept.  If your internet goes down, even for an hour, you have no access to your clients information!

Provided on Hardware

The up side: Neat solution, should work well as set up by the supplier.

The down side: More expensive especially if you already have hardware.  Not transportable or expandable without recourse to the supplier which inevitably means more cost.

Server/Local Installed Software

The normal solution. Allows you control of the hardware, roll out, back up and security. A good software vendor will support you either directly or via VPN.

Resisystem’s prides itself on early response and customer support.  We release fixes and upgrades to our clients immediately. Upgrading their systems automatically where we have remote access, ensuring you always have the latest version and any problems dealt with immediately. Version 10 of Residata, (planned release May/June 2011) will provide the best of both worlds allowing local deployment and data storage whilst providing a web based front end for internet log in and access via mobile and smart phone .

Gearing up for registration

Michelle Doyle of the Care Quality Commission reports.

The Health and Social Care Act 2008 introduced a new, single registration system that applies to both healthcare and adult social care (see Deborah Berger’s article in last month’s issue1). From 1 October 2010, adult social care and independent healthcare providers that carry on regulated activities must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). To be registered, providers must show that they are meeting new essential standards of quality and safety in all of the regulated activities that they provide. Read more
